2011 Stoney Rise Chardonnay

Stoney Rise Chardonnay

James Halliday

Wine Companion Magazine / Oct Nov 2012

Proclaims its cool Tasmanian origin the second it enters the mouth, with the flinty acidity that underpins all Tasmanian white wines. While barrel-fermented, oak plays a subservient role in a wine barely out of its diapers, and a long life ahead for the grapefruit and apple flavours that drive the long palate.

TASSIE TEMPTATION - ANOTHER beauty from the Apple Isle. Underlying French oak and subtle spice, with peach and nectarine, grapefruit-like freshness, smoke and wheat. The palate has got a little weight, with quality balance between flavours, freshness and feeling. This is a very pleasant wine and suits most seafood and white meats.
